Smoke 'em till they POP! That is what wins the crowd over in the Burn Out contest. This year's Burn Out contest will take place Sunday afternoon, July
8th during the main event.
A burnout occurs when the driver of a car or motorcycle spins the vehicle's drive wheels on dry pavement until a trail of white smoke is generated.
The origins of this act can be traced to drag racing, where
burnouts have a practical purpose; drag racing tires perform best at a high temperature, and a burnout is the quickest way to increase the tire temperature. In drag race tracks, there is usually a slightly wet paved space, the 'burnout box', reserved for burnouts.
Burnouts have become a form of serious competition and entertainment in their own right. Prize money or goods are sometimes involved, and cars may even be sponsored or purpose built specifically as a
burnout car.
Burnout competitions are judged on crowd response, so style and attitude are factors.
DUBWARS and
WRDUSA have teamed up and constructed a
special Burn-Out box which will enable us to perform
Burn-Outs without damaging the property and unnecessarily placing spectators in harms way.
The Burn Out contest is a pure crowd pleaser. Everyone who has ever been to DUBWARS of years past will tell you that the
Burnouts are not to be missed!
Smoke, noise, action & then BOOM! If tires don't explode, the contestants aren't trying hard enough! As a spectator, it's also your job to judge the best performance of the night! Whoever gets the biggest reaction from the crowd will be crowned DUBWARS 2007's BURNOUT CHAMPION!
There is no need to "Pre-Register" for the Burn-Out Event. Sign ups will be on
a first come first serve basis at the DUBWARS booth.
Please see the Rules page for more event info & vehicle requirements. Make sure to review the Schedule for all Event times.
| Please Note: There is a $20 per person gate fee to enter the Event area of
